Continuing the our long legacy of quality people, outstanding service, and integral leadership.

We have the best people in the Southeast.

At Sumter Utilities, power is our business, but people are at the center of it all. We believe that investing in our community – be it our customers, our neighbors, or our employees – is the way we become the best electric power contractor in the industry.

Ingrained in a partnership with Sumter you’ll find qualities like safety, reliability, honor, integrity, longevity, and decades of experience.

Serving the power industry since 1935.

What began as two family-owned companies in 1935 is now a keystone electric power contractor in the Southeast. Sumter Builders and Utilities Construction came together to form Sumter Utilities after the acquisition by parent company Quanta Services. Throughout the past 85+ years, our people-first, relationship-centric culture has remained at the forefront of all we do.

We take pride in our southern roots. Maintaining our reputation of honesty and quality is a top priority because we care about this community that we call home.
